Creating an All-in-One System for Safely Reinventing Rehab
The versatile SafeGait system allows you to tailor treatment programs that challenge patients recovering from stroke, SCI, neurodegenerative disease, TBI and amputations. Unlike traditional rehab programs, SafeGait enables therapists to safely perform one-on-one assessments and interventions, increasing efficiency and productivity. In fact, one therapist can control a wide range of gait, transfer and stair activities in a single session, including: TUG, sit-to-stand, side stepping, floor-to-sit, stair climbing, walking with visual distraction, manual and cognitive dual tasks. You can also create your own customized tasks and add them to the Plan of Care library.
Regaining balance can be a scary process for patients. The SafeGait System provides a safe, comfortable environment for the patient to regain confidence with real-time feedback for the therapist.
With the SafeGait system, therapists can focus their attention on facilitating gait improvements instead of providing physical support to the patient. Without the need to guard, therapists can step back, assess form and assist the patient with proper mechanics.
We use SafeGait with patients who have profound weakness- for example, patients recovering from a stroke, and consequently may have very little stamina or strength. In the past, these patients might have required more time before initiating training and the assistance of several therapists, but when they are using SafeGait, our therapists can start earlier and focus on guiding their movements rather than holding the patient up.
